The Philosophy & Ethics of Communication Interest Group invites submissions for the 2014 convention (April 1-6 at the Sheraton New Orleans in New Orleans, LA). While all paper and panel proposals shall be considered, those that focus on the philosophical and ethical dimensions of this year's theme-Moving On: Envisioning the Future of the Field-will be particularly welcome. Submissions may include competitive papers or panels.
The use of AV equipment is strongly discouraged.
Submission deadline: September 16, 2013 (6 p.m. EDT)
For competitive papers, please include an abstract of no more than 100 words, and limit papers to no more than 25 pages. Be sure to identify papers that are "Debut," "Graduate Student," or "Faculty." Include a separate title page giving the name, affiliation, email and home address of the author or authors.
For panel proposals, please include a title, abstract of no more than 100 words; names, affiliations, emails and home addresses of all participants. We strongly encourage panels to address the following topics:
* New Pathways of Research (Ongoing scholarly projects)
* Philosophy of Communication & Crisis (Disasters and Precarity)
* Philosophy of Communication & History
* Philosophy of Communication & Jazz (Music)
* Philosophy of Communication & Justice (Economics, Environment, Food, and Social)
* Philosophy of Communication & Race
* Philosophy of Communication & Religion
* Philosophy of Communication & Technology
Please save your paper/panel proposal as a Word Document and email it as an attachment, with "SSCA PEIG Submission" in the subject.
