Good morning, everyone,
Below you can find an interdisciplinary call for papers (education and communication). The deadline for the conference submissions is July 17. Best of luck!
General Education and Assessment:
Disruptions, Innovations, and Opportunities
A Network for Academic Renewal Conference
February 27-March 1, 2014
Portland, Oregon
Proposals Due Wednesday, July 17, 2013
"AAC&U invites proposals that will examine how emerging disruptions in higher education are leading to positive opportunities for innovation in general education and assessment to improve the undergraduate experience for all students.
General Education and Assessment: Disruptions, Innovations, and Opportunities will explore how individual programs, campuses, consortia, and collaboratives have been working to create new opportunities for student learning throughout general education. The conference will feature innovations that go beyond a single program or campus, pedagogy or practice, and that show how tenure-track and contingent faculty, other educational professionals, community partners, and students are developing expanded paradigms for learning that matter for students, the workforce, and communities both local and global.
We invite session proposals that address emergent disruptions through a focus on new opportunities within the following themes:
* Collaborating for Quality: From my work to our work-collaborating across campus divisions, institutions, schools, and communities
* Aligning Assessment: Connecting assessment efforts across the institution (or institutions) to focus and scale improvement efforts
* Intentional learning: From cornerstone to capstone; faculty development (including contingent faculty); high-impact practices; integrating general education, majors, work, and students' lives
* Strategies for Engaging Change: Transparency, communication, resource mapping, building inter-institutional networks
Visit the Call for Proposals to find out how to submit a proposal to share your work at this conference."
